An Orchid hybrid cross made of Encyclia tampensis and Cattleya maxima, flowered in Sarasota, Florida, April, 2008. The new orchid hybrid was named in honor of the patriach of CLAN Tropicals. The new hybrid was registered, and recorded with the RHS, London, England, on November 25, 2008. The hybridizer was Fredrick Allen Williams II
