Stanhopea wardii

A beautiful, unusual, large Venezuelan form with rounded deep green pseudobulbs and a solitary apical leaf. The large flowers, up to eight on a pendant inflorescence, are fragrant, very showy, yellow to orangish, with tiny reddish flecks on the sepals and petals and a large reddish ’eye spot’ on each side of the hypochile. Culture is warm to intermediate, bright and moist, in hanging baskets because of its pendant flowers.
