Cirrhopetalum (C.) is derived from the Latin words "Cirrhus" meaning hairy and "petalon" meaning petal. The name refers to the many small hairs, or peleae, found on the dorsal sepals of many species.
Most of the Cirrhopetalums are confined to the far eastern part of the Bulbophyllum range from India, eastward across Southeast Asia, into the south Pacific islands and North into the Philippines.
As with the Bulbophyllums, there are photos of the following Cirrhopetalums. Please press on the species name to access the photos. The photos are in JPEG format and are 20 to 40 kbs in size.
