A wide spread species found throughout Indonesia, Thailand, Laos, and into the Philippines. The long psuedobulbs (canes) can grow to six feet. This species loses its leaves in the fall, and the fragrant flowers arise, in the spring, from the old leaf attachment points. The new growth begins after the flowering. Old nude canes can rebloom for several years.
