Habitat range Low elevation dryish forests in Brazil Warm to Intermediate Grower. This species upon which the genus was founded. Several large fragrant, fleshy flowers usually cream with purple spots. very dark purple hypochile. The habitats have a distinct dry season. So a dry winter rest is necessary for good blooming. Enjoys Very Bright Shade. Water Well, Never Allow to totally Dry.Plants are usually grown in open baskets, so pendant inflorescences can emerge from bottom of basket. Regular, Non Urea fertilizer promotes good growth Shipped Bare Root

Culture is warm to intermediate, bright and moist, in hanging baskets because of its pendant flowers.
