Mature to Bloom

A popular and beautiful small species found from India to Thailand. Stubby, one leafed pseudobulb-like canes to 4 or 5 inches grow in dense clusters. Well suited to mounting, basket or pot culture, this is an easy to grow species and faithful bloomer. Springtime brings sprays of inch sized buttercup yellow to orange flowers, which are large for the small growth habit. The variety Jenkinsii has smaller canes, but the same size and color of flowers. Jenkinsii is found in India on the northern edge of the habitat range. The photograph is of a very mature and well grown plant.
